Bio based composite pedestrian bridge
Osoite: Dommel, Netherlands
Hankeosapuolet: Prof. Dr.-Ing. Patrick Teuffel & Ir. Rijk Blok
Valmistumisvuosi: 2015 – ongoing
The project aims to design, produce and realise a small, but fully bio-based composite pedestrian bridge at the campus of TU/e. So far some bio-based building projects have been realised world-wide, but either they focussed on non-structural elements or they used components, which were based on fossils materials.

Kestävän kehityksen ratkaisut:
The project aims to open options for recyclable design solution for footbridges, that for example can be used in natural preservation areas and other (protected) environments. There is an increasing pressure on natural (protected) environments to be opened to the public because of increasing numbers of recreational users.
Materials used in these bridges and their protective materials are harmful for their environment. By designing a bio-based footbridge the project aims to explore options for less harmful solutions.
